ROLE PURPOSE
The Safeguarding Manager, under the supervision of the Head of Safeguarding, plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily functions of the safeguarding team at the Country Office. This position is essential for ensuring that safeguarding policies are effectively implemented, creating a culture of safety, and making sure all stakeholders are responsible for preventing abuse and addressing safeguarding concerns.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management: Lead and manage the Safeguarding (SG) team, providing guidance, support, and performance reviews to ensure effective operations.
Policy Coordination: Oversee the implementation and review of safeguarding policies, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop monitoring systems to evaluate safeguarding practices, conduct audits, and provide comprehensive reports with actionable insights.
Training Development: Design and facilitate training programs for staff and partners on safeguarding principles.
Reporting and Documentation: Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of safeguarding incidents, maintaining detailed records for transparency.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to promote safeguarding initiatives and foster collaborative partnerships.
Case Management and Investigations: Oversee case management, coordinate investigations, and ensure adherence to ethical standards.
Crisis Management: Develop crisis response plans for safeguarding incidents and act as the point of contact for urgent issues.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate safeguarding risks within the organization, ensuring ongoing policy updates to reflect best practices.
Safe Programming: Ensure all programs are designed with safeguarding in mind, integrating safety measures into program evaluations.
Policy Advocacy: Advocate for safeguarding principles at all organizational levels and stay updated on relevant national and international policies.

Qualifications/Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, human rights, or international development. A master’s degree is preferred.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in safeguarding or child protection, with 2 years in a managerial role.
Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic, with strong writing skills in both.
Travel: Willingness to travel as required.
